PLANS FOR THE FUTURE!
What are my aims for the future ( notice I say aims, as I'm also going to be busy IRL)? Well first of all I want YFFS to be completely revamped into the new style, with every page we have SO FAR being perfect. Looking neat, being up to date, etc. After this I want to add a general page for every FF game in the franchise. While I'll be working on that, Gumdrop and I will also focus on adding a lot of media content ( big thanks to Gumdrop) to the website, making it a media based website as well. This includes cutscenes, screenshots, videos, music, images etc. After we've finished all that, and we still haven't foun ourselves a content writer we'll start on content pages.
After the second Hiatus
After getting a new layout from Lant we kinda went inactive for 2 months, in which the site was still online, and news was posted on the forums, but the site itself was not updated. This was all to start on the new project, as I was completely going to revamp YFFS. For starters the name; I decided to call it Your Final Fantasy Source in stead. I think this name fits the site more, and leaves us more possibilities. The new website will mainly focussed about news and media, and general game information. As I'm typing this I've gone trough 60% of the pages and updated them to the new layout and tweaked them a little. We will try to dig up as many of the old content as possible.
After the Hiatus
On Sunday January the 13th I reviewed my files and noticed the layout KBB made for me. I coded it for the sake of IDK, but it ended up coded for 90%, so I decided to restart YFFS just because of this. After getting some help and coding it completely I started to clean up my old content, and my FTP, and I re-organised everything, so this time I woulnd' t fail. before I would open it I would first write all the site pages, and I would write the intro pages of each site first. I wrote this About page around this time.
During the Hiatus
During this Hiatus, which would last about 4 months, My hits slowly started decreasing from 160 daily to 25 daily avarage. In November 2007 I did another attempt to restart YFFS, with this layout. Yet again I quit my work, and started a forum community in stead. Gamersplaza is still our forums, but with a domain name, as well as well set-up features.
Before the Hiatus
YFFS started out as a forums community, back in March 2006, using the popular invisionfree boards. We had around 20 active members, and a staff of around 5 people. It was around that time I decided I wanted to make a real site to go with the forums. First I used free website makers, such as freewebs, and Bluevoda. I quickly went into the path of free hosting and HTML tough. After V1 and V2 of our layouts, i had learned enough HTML to seriously start. After making V3 myself, and half-coding it myself (with help of Josh), we started to get some serious content and serious hits. Enough to get me some paid hosting and a domain, and some mighty fine affiliates. After the home hosted PhpBB forums, we tried to share vBulletin forums with Golden Ocarina and Game Anime Hybrid. That went okay for some time, but we weren' t quite active. I had 100+ pages of content, but not top quality. When my real life, my gaming heabits and my school started to become to much, I decided to go on Hiatus for a while, We' ve had V4 of YFFS for 2-3 months then.
