"Sazh is a friendly, cheerful man who is never without his curious companions-a chocobo chick and a pair of pistols. He is quick to banter, but also keeps a mature perspective on matters. Uncontrollable events have set him on his path, but another purpose compels him to walk it."
A civilian airship pilot, Sazh is a cheerful and mature man. Three years prior to the events in Final Fantasy XIII, Sazh's wife passed away, leaving him to care for their son, Dajh, alone. After it is discovered that his son is an l'Cie, Dajh is taken by PSICOM. Sazh sets out to save his son and accompanies Lightning to see the fal'Cie Anima. Unfortunately, he becomes an l'Cie himself and gains the ability to summon the Eidolin Brynhildr.
