Final Fantasy XIII Information

Final Fantasy XIII is one of the biggest projects of Square Enix at this moment. We don' t know much about the game, just things we can get from interviews, and from trailers/screenshots.
Altough the release dates are not yet known, there are several rumours. The one that makes the most sense to me is the one on the right of this text, but people have claimed a worldwide release at December 1st. Neither one of these has been found true, as Square Enix recently disclosed that Final Fantasy XIII shall NOT be released in 2008.
About the story is not much known, apart from the places it takes place. It takes place in Cocoon, and in Pulse. Final Fantasy XIII takes place in a heavily technology based world, which is clearly visible.
The main character is Lightning, who uses a sword that can be changed to a gun, and viceversa. Other people have been shown in the trailer, but they have not been given an official name yet.
